This is a wonderful old barn that has been renovated. It’s small but perfect for two people. We had great weather so it was also nice to sit outside. There’s a great pub next-door and it’s a very pretty village.

Really sweet cosy home- everything you needed!

My stay at the Retreat was all-in-all quite cozy.  I was looking for a place that felt tucked away in order to get some work done and do some laundry mid-traveling, and it worked wonderfully for that.  The internet was a little too inconsistent for my needs, but if you're just using the wifi for recreation then it should be perfectly fine.  The heating and hot water were very consistent though, as the temperatures did drop a bit, and I felt all together snug.  A short drive to Stamford, and I also enjoyed visiting the Barnack Hills & Holes - quite interesting!

The accommodation fitted my needs perfectly. The hosts were proactive in contacting me before and during my stay. I would recommend for sure.

The property was easy to find, secluded enough to provide privacy, but close enough to town to make shopping etc. easy. Friendly neighbours and beautiful interior. Small, but homely (good for 2 people). Free parking and WiFi made the stay easier. One of the best parts was the app! It was so informative, easy to follow and helped throughout our stay (especially upon arrival!).

We enjoyed our stay here and thought it to be well priced. The place was small but had all the amenities we needed and was in a lovely location. The bed was comfy and the patio was nice additional space to relax in during the evening. However, it is worth noting this is being ran by a buisness (Apex Stays) even though it is not listed as being part of a buisness - I would have liked this information upfront. Furthermore, they required information and ID outsite of the airbnb platform.

Lovely little accommodation, in a beautiful village. We love to walk, and had Barnack hills and holes and Stamford’s Burghley House within walking distance.
